From prêt-à-porter to curio shops, from supermarkets to pharmacies, Still Bay has a large range of shops and services to pick and choose from. Jongensfontein has its own small-scale supermarkets with snacks and the famous beach-front ice-cream that has become a traditional outing to our regulars.
Every year a number of events take place on Jongensfontein, such as our art markets during the April and December school holidays, various Fishing Derby’s, surfing competitions and many more.

As laid-back as our region might seem, there is a long list of « things to do » accessible here. One of our personal favorites is the very diverse 3h hike between Jongensfontein and Still Bay. Starting from Jongensfontein, the trail initially winds through rocks, before giving way to deserted beaches. Toward the end, visible during low tide, a long stretch of ancient fish traps takes one back in time and, to finish the hike, the trail leads through a dense, a milkwood fairy-land forest. The hike ends just above the Still Bay harbour.
